1957 Road Safety Film

This Saturday’s Phantom Dancer is a classic – but without a play list! Seems one was never originally published. But it does have a video of the week. You can watch it below! Well, that’s something, isn’t it?

If this is your first visit Greg Poppleton’s Radio Lounge, let me explain what the ‘Phantom Dancer’ is.

The Phantom Dancer is 90 minutes of swing, jazz and dance from live 1920s – 50s radio and TV which you can hear on your radio and live-streamed twice a week over 107.3 2SER Sydney

The Phantom Dancer has been on-air over 2SER since 1985, presented by myself, Greg Poppleton, using re-pressings of vintage swing radio on LP and CD.

You can hear The Phantom Dancer every Tuesday at 12 noon (+11 GMT), repeated Saturdays at 6pm, on your FM radio or digital wireless or live-streamed

Every week with the Phantom Dancer play list I dig out for your delectation, from You Tube, a Phantom Dancer Video of the Week. This week’s Vid of the W is a cracker – ‘Signal Advice’ – a road safety film made mostly on Sydney’s northern beaches in 1957. Most Sydney drivers still don’t indicate, or indicate too late. Is it a Sydney thing?
