Hello Bakelite Broadcasters,
Thank you for coming to our March Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters shows.
The Gin Mill Socials at Slide on March 14 and 28th, The Victoria Room Sunday Carnival and the Mosman Tea Dance were all lots of fun. Such a shame Lane Cove Plaza was cancelled on the day. It’s an outdoor event and it was pouring with rain.
Just found this excellent picture online of Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters at the GREAT ART DECO BALL Carrington Hotel Katoomba taken last February by David Hill…

WHAT HAPPENED IN MARCH?
LANE COVE PLAZA
We were very much looking forward to playing for you at Lane Cove. We arrived to play and were stopped by rain. Hopefully we’ll back in the plaza soon
SUNDAY CARNIVAL – THE VICTORIA ROOM
Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters play once or twice a year as a duo or trio in this eclectic mix of local and international artists in a Spiegeltent meets Bohemia spectacular.
This time we were a duo, mixing Victoriana, Edwardian song, ragtime and 1920s hotcha with myself singing songs of long lost love and moral improvement accompanied by Tony Gardner on the grand piano.
I’ve uploaded two live recordings on Soundcloud for you. They’re FREE to download and share!

MOSMAN TEA DANCE
This is the second year we’ve played this social at Mosman. I sang, Chuck Morgan played guitar, Darcy Wright was on double bass and my 11 year old son Damon played alto sax in the instrumentals. He’s the youngest musician ever to play at 505. Last night he was playing in a Latin American band in Marrickville. Here he is tootling ‘In A Mellow Tone’ at Mosman…
