I just found a clip online. Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters played as a quartet the music of the 1900s for an Edwardian themed event at Sydney Town Hall.
With Daniel Weltlinger on violin, Paul Cutlan clarinet and Mark harris double bass, Greg Poppleton sang rags like, ‘Hello Ma Baby’, English Music Hall including, ‘I’m Henery The Eighth’, tear-jerker ballads such as, ‘In The Baggage Car Ahead’, and a few arie and art songs including ‘Caro Mio Ben’ and ‘Verborgenheit’.
I also emceed. You can see a short excerpt of me cajoling from the massive stage in this clip.
The event was staged by Avant Garde Events. Here’s the clip…Enjoy.
