Rick and Jillie’s Wedding 17 October 2015

Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters were thrilled to play for the wedding of Rick and Jillie in Rose Bay.

As always, we played Sydney’s only authentic 1920s – 1930s hot jazz, ballads and swing all night.

In Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters: Greg Poppleton authentic 1920s-1930s singer, Todd Hardy trumpet, Ben Jones tenor sax doubling clarinet, Grahame Conlon guitar doubling banjo, Greg Chilcott sousaphone and Alex Inman-Hislop drums.

Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters serenaded guests as they celebrated Rick and Jillie with drinks in the terraced garden, followed by dinner music, then two sets for dancing that filled the dance floor. Sound was by Tony Jex.

Thank you, Rick and Jillie, for having Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters at your warm, magnificent reception.

Alex Inman-Hislop is gaining a reputation as a hot, new drummer. He is very busy. He's played with Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters at Thredbo Jazz, Cronulla RSL, Spring Into Jazz, Glenaeon and more. Here, Alex, is wowing the wedding party with Duke Ellington's Caravan.
