Phantom Dancer Swing Mix 15 Dec 15

Here is your Phantom Dancer play list for Tuesday 15 December 2015 on 107.3 2SER Sydney 12noon – 2pm, online and archived for your listening and dancing pleasure after the Tuesday broadcast at http://www.2ser.com

Missed the show/ It’s now online at 2ser.com

On this week’s 2 hour non-stop mix of swing and jazz from live 1920s – 1960s radio you’ll hear some real radio rarities – George Gershwin, The 3 T’s (Jack and Charlie Teagarden and Frank Trambauer) and The Three Potato Bugs ocarina trio.

Plus there’re a few commercial sides including a 1930s side by Australian swing maestri Frank Coughlin and George Trevare, and a 1940s record by Mandopop singer Yao Lee whose song Rose, Rose I Love You is the only Chinese Pop Song ever to get into the top 3 in the US Charts. It was covered by Frankie Laine in 1951. Petula Clark did a cover of the 1940 song in the UK.

Your Phantom Dancer Video of the Week is Julius Sumner Miller giving Dramatic Demonstrations in Physics on the matter of Magnetism. This is program 40, recorded at ABC-TV in Sydney in 1969. Enjoy…
