The Phantom Dancer is your non-stop 2 hour mix of swing and jazz from live 1920s-60s radio. On-air with Greg Poppleton since 1985.

You can now hear the 3 May Phantom Dancer archived online at 2ser.com

Your 3 May Phantom Dancer includes a two sets of live radio from Those Fabulous Fifties.

I mean mod sounds over WHDH Boston in 1953 from Lee Konitz, Billie Holliday and Charlie Parker. And I mean a set of cool sounds by Billy May and The Encores, Stan Kenton with Conte Condoli, and Sauter – Finnegan.

Sammy Kaye’s Orchestra even sets Chattanooga Choo Choo to Boogie Woogie in a 1940s Spotlight Bands broadcast.

The final hour of the mix is all vinyl.

The show is then archived at 2ser.com/Phantom_Dancer for you to listen to online at any time.

Your Phantom Dancer Video of the Week is from a 1939 Vitaphone short: Get Happy played by Larry Clinton and his Orchestra with vocals by Bea Wain, Ford Leary and featuring The Philharmonicas harmonica sextet. C’mon Get Happy!
