Million YouTuber, Greg Poppleton, is bringing his high-energy vintage jazz and swing show to the North Shore’s newest jazz venue, Mosman Bowling Club, 2 – 4:30pm, Sunday 13 August.
Greg is totally untouched by contemporary music. His voice is true-to-the-era.
“Greg Poppleton captures the essence of the era with uncanny accuracy.” - Kevin Jones, jazz critic Fine Music 102.5
Greg’s voice is operatically trained. He sells a song. He’ll make you laugh. Even those who don’t like jazz like Greg Poppleton.
“That’s because we play real jazz. We improvise, we have fun, we’re acoustic, we’re alive, we’re always in the moment,” says Greg.
“Your great voice, your ability to “sell a song” and your energy came across as completely American while sounding Australian! And that trio is an absolute knockout.” - Lance Belville, Writer / Theatre Director, San Francisco.
Since 2002, Greg Poppleton has revived the songs of the Roaring 20s and 1930s Swing Era.
In Greg’s swinging trio: Grahame Conlon (guitar/banjo) Dave Clayton (double bass) and Adam Barnard (snare, bells, washboard).
On the song list: The Charleston, My Blue Heaven, Singing in the Bathtub, Falling in Love Again, My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes and Road to Gundagai.
Tickets: $20 at door. Kids 16 and under FREE.
