Discovered in 1930, here are the latest published NASA pics of Pluto taken by the New Horizons probe.
Planetary features can now just be discerned.
NASA has also been looking to see if Pluto has more moons than the 5 moons already discovered, Charon, Nix, Hydra, Kerberos and Styx. All 5 moons have been photographed but no more have yet been seen. NASA is also on the lookout for rings around Pluto, but if rings exist it’s now thought they must be very faint and narrow.
More images are being taken today and 30 May. They will be released around 12 June. Stay tuned.
